In April 2026, the stage is set for a new edition of One Ocean Week and Bergen will once again mark itself as Norway's ocean capital. The opening weekend will see a large crowd in Vågen, professional meeting places and activities for the whole family at Festningskaien.
Statsraad Lehmkuhl comes home

After 12 months at sea, Statsraad Lehmkuhl returns to Bergen as part of the One Ocean Expedition - a voyage that has combined sailing training, research, education and international cooperation to strengthen knowledge about the ocean.
The expedition has visited 26 ports on three continents. When the ship sails into Vågen, it marks both the end of an adventurous journey and the start of One Ocean Week 2026.
Approach and boat escort
All boat owners are invited to participate in a joint motorcade to welcome the ship home.
- Start: At Askøybroen at 10.45
- Expected to be visible in Vågen: approximately 11.30 a.m.
- Moored at the quay: approximately 12.00 noon
- Public event at Bryggen: from 11.00 am
The people of Bergen are encouraged to attend and participate when the city welcomes its "floating ambassador" for United Nations Ocean Decade.

Maritime Saturday at Festningskaien
The fortress quay will be transformed into a large festival area this Saturday, with the maritime industry, research and technology taking center stage. There will be activities both outside on the quay and inside the 166-meter-long vessel Trans Hav, where you can experience several of the exhibitions.
The audience can, among other things:
- visit open ships
- explore technological innovations
- watch the slideshow
- experience the Navy's activities
- participate in regattas and boat workshops
- taste your way through the seafood tent
The event is free and suitable for the whole family.

Family day with activities for everyone
The entire Fortress Quay is filled with vessels large and small - from small boats to the huge Trans Hav with its impressive cargo hold. Inside the ship, both children and adults can:
- sample simulators
- see model boats
- explore a giant ship engine
- learn about different maritime trades and technologies
Out on the quay there will be tastings, sports activities and various workshops. The day is designed for everyone to explore, learn and participate.

A sea of opportunities - for school students
Monday, April 20, is set aside for middle and high schools in the region. The aim is to show pupils the educational and career opportunities that exist within the ocean industries.
Along the quayside and inside Trans Hav, students will meet:
- local shipping companies
- the aquaculture and seafood industry
- research environments
- technology companies
- the navy
Registration for school classes can be done either between 10.00-12.00 or 12.00-14.00.
