HRH Crown Prince Haakon will attend the One Ocean Summit at Håkonshallen during One Ocean Week in Bergen on April 20.

On April 20, 2026, national and international forces will gather at Håkonshallen in Bergen for the One Ocean Summit. The purpose is to discuss and highlight how we can work together for the ocean we need for the future we want. This is in line with the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.

Returns to One Ocean Week

The Crown Prince has shown a commitment to sustainability and the oceans, and also participated in the One Ocean Summit in 2023 and 2025.

"We are very much looking forward to welcoming His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon once again during One Ocean Week in Bergen," says Mayor Marit Warncke.

Putting the ocean on the agenda

This year's main theme for the One Ocean Summit is "A Safe and Predictable Ocean." The theme addresses two of the UN's action points for the current Decade of Ocean Science.

During the meeting, leading experts, decision-makers, and international representatives will discuss and address the pressing challenges facing the world's oceans.
