During Arendalsuka, the Vestlandsbåten, MS Sandnes, serves as an important meeting place for the maritime industries. Stakeholders from across the country gather here to discuss topics such as shipping, energy, technology, and sustainability.

Several members of One Ocean, Bergen, Norway featured in the onboard program and will contribute expert presentations and discussions throughout the week. This underscores Bergen’s strong position as a leading maritime city and knowledge hub within ocean-based industries. The program on the Vestlandsbåten offers a wide range of events, from debates and professional seminars to networking opportunities.

Arendal, August 10–14

Arendalsuka takes place August 10–14 and is Norway’s largest political festival, where politicians, business leaders, journalists, and representatives from civil society organizations meet face-to-face to debate society’s most important issues. The Vestlandsbåten is one of the major venues during Arendalsuka, hosting 40–50 events throughout the week.

Western Norway as a whole

Together with 12 main partners and 16 co-organizers, Bergen Chamber of Commerce & Industry Vestlandet on the Vestlandsbåten. The main partners for 2026 are: University of Bergen, Nordhordland Region, The City of Bergen, Vestland County Council, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norwegian School of Economics, Elmera Group, Bouvet, European Cruise Service, Hardangervidda Tunnels, Linga Laks, and Agenda Vestlandet. You can visit the Vestlandsbåten at Langbrygga in Arendal or follow the meetings via livestream.
