The Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue warmly welcomes everyone to the christening of a new rescue boat in Bergen.
A completely refurbished rescue boat will strengthen coastal emergency response capabilities around Bergen. The Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue has received a donation from the Det Norske Veritas Foundation, which has fully funded the refurbishment of a Simrad-class rescue boat. The Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue is constantly working to achieve its goals of a more sustainable maritime emergency response system. The refurbishment and service life extension of older rescue boats is one of several measures to achieve this. The rescue boat will be operated by a volunteer crew.
