The event will explore the opportunities and challenges posed by population growth in the region as we look toward the development of the city of tomorrow. There will be insightful presentations and a panel discussion.

Urban developers along Puddefjorden are hosting a professional event that highlights how Bergen can leverage its unique opportunities in the areas of waste management and circular urban development. Major infrastructure projects are underway around Bergen, generating significant surplus materials—a resource that is currently transported long distances at high costs and with substantial greenhouse gas emissions. The event brings together policymakers, experts, landowners, and urban developers to explore how locally sourced stone and materials can be used to shape a more resilient, climate-friendly, and attractive coastal city. Opportunities to establish a comprehensive “Bergen Model” will be a central focus.
We will look specifically at how strategic planning and better collaboration between public and private actors can create new urban spaces, business opportunities, and quality housing along the waterfront.

This is an opportunity to broaden our horizons, share experiences, and work together to define how Bergen can become a leading city in circular waste management and smart land use planning.
