The ocean absorbs 25-30% of human carbon dioxide emissions, but what does this do to the ocean? We look at how carbon dioxide affects the ocean and the organisms that live there.

The students produce and collectCO2, whichthey detect using lime water. We investigate how the pH changes in water whenCO2dissolves, look at solubility in hot and cold water, show thatCO2is heavier than air, and use the gas for "fire extinguishing."

Finally, the students play a game where they learn more about how ocean acidification affects different organisms in the sea.

The learning program lasts 90 minutes and is offered several times during the day. You can find available times in the booking link.
