During One Ocean Week, AIDA and Carnival are hosting a seminar on how we can work together to realize the full potential of our ports. The seminar will take place on the AIDAprima—one of the world’s most modern cruise ships.

Norwegian ports are far more than just logistics hubs. They are key strategic players in the green maritime transition and are crucial to future value creation along the coast.

Last year, Norwegian Ports and DNV published the report “Drivers and Measures for a Resilient Port Sector,” which identifies two critical barriers to the development of the Norwegian port sector: a lack of infrastructure and insufficient access to investment capital. These barriers not only hinder the ports themselves—they also slow down the entire maritime industry’s ability to carry out the green transition.

In this seminar, we will focus on what it will take for Norwegian ports to transition from being a bottleneck to becoming a catalyst for the next maritime era. Through panel discussions and expert presentations, we will explore how private capital and public initiatives can work together—and what steps are necessary to accelerate the development of future-oriented port infrastructure.

The seminar is being organized as a city-wide invitational event.
