The message in a bottle is a school project and part of Statsraad Lehmkuhl's ongoing One Ocean Expedition 2025–2026.
School classes from different countries work on assignments related to the ocean, climate, and sustainability. The students create their own contributions—texts, illustrations, reports, and videos—that provide insight into their thoughts, concerns, and hopes for the future of the ocean.
At ports along the sailing route, participating school classes are invited on board the ship to deliver their contributions in person.
The works will follow the expedition throughout its year-long voyage and will be gathered together when the Statsraad Lehmkuhl returns to Bergen during One Ocean Week.
The student exhibition is on display in the Statsraad Lehmkuhl building at Bradbenken and is free and open to everyone throughout One Ocean Week.
On Sunday, April 19, Statsraad Lehmkuhl will be open to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors are welcome on board, and the visit can easily be combined with the exhibition Flaskepost om havet (Message in a Bottle about the Sea), which is on display in the Lehmkuhl building right next to the ship.
