To ensure that both the fishing and offshore wind industries can continue their operations at sea, the sectors are working closely together to find solutions. We gather for this annual seminar to share updates and engage in dialogue.

For the sixth year in a row, the fishing and offshore wind industries are bringing together interested parties for an exchange of experiences and updates. Together with the Norwegian Fishermen’s Association and its three member associations—Fiskebåt, Nord Fiskarlag, and Sør-Norges Fiskarlag—Offshore Norway invites you to a day packed with status updates and discussions on future information sharing and mapping solutions.

Three offshore wind developers are now in the process of planning and developing offshore wind projects on the Norwegian continental shelf following the completion of auctions and licensing rounds. This corresponds to an allocated area for 2.5 GW of capacity. NVE is advising the developers through the initial licensing processes under the Offshore Energy Act. The foundation for future processes and procedures regarding offshore wind development in Norway is now being laid. It is important to establish these procedures as part of fostering good coexistence, as a significant part of this involves effective information sharing.

This is one of the key focuses of this year’s seminar, as we take a step back to assess where we stand and chart the way forward so that we can achieve our goal of allocating space for 30 GW of offshore wind power by 2040.
