A large-scale woodworking shop for all ages, where you can make whatever you like. You can also try your hand at blacksmithing with our blacksmith.
Bergen Fellesverksted will be hosting creative activities at Bryggen on Sunday during One Ocean Week.
Family Woodworking Workshop (no age limit)
Make whatever you like in our woodworking workshop! We have plenty of wood, nails, glue, and a variety of tools available. This activity is for children and teens, but children under 6 must be accompanied by a parent.
Forging a Hook (ages 12 and up)
Try your hand at the classic craft of blacksmithing. We heat steel to 1,200 degrees, and you’ll then use a blacksmith’s hammer to shape the hot steel into a hook that you can use to hang clothes, for example. We provide all the necessary equipment, and our blacksmiths will be on hand to demonstrate and assist you.
All activities are free of charge; space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
They are held in Norwegian, but English is also available if needed.
