Welcome aboard Norway’s largest sailing ship—free admission. The day after returning from the year-long One Ocean Expedition, the Statsraad Lehmkuhl will open its gangway and invite the public to tour the ship.

Go on a journey of discovery aboard “Bergen’s Pride”:

• Walk freely around the deck and enjoy the view of Bryggen and Byfjorden
• Get a glimpse of life below deck on one of the barges
• See how the hammocks work—this is how the expedition crew sleeps on board
• Strike up a conversation with the crew, who are happy to answer questions about life at sea
• Learn knots and tacks—or try your hand at throwing a line

There will be waffles, hot dogs, and drinks for sale, as well as souvenirs such as T-shirts, sweaters, hats, and caps.

This is a unique opportunity to experience Bergen’s pride and joy up close, right after the 12-month One Ocean Expedition, during which the ship sailed as an ambassador for United Nations Ocean Decade shared knowledge about the ocean.

Open Ship is an experience for the whole family—and a rare opportunity to get up close to one of the world’s most beautiful and famous sailing ships.

Welcome aboard!
