Secrets of the Sea – Discovering marine life

Our ocean is full of life! Beneath the waves lives an extraordinary diversity of organisms — from delicate jellyfish drifting in the open water to tiny creatures hidden deep in the seafloor. Many of these organisms are beautiful, bizarre, and still largely unknown to science.

In this lecture series, researchers from the University Museum of Bergen invite you to dive into the fascinating world of marine biodiversity. Through stories from expeditions, discoveries from museum collections, and examples from current research, our speakers will introduce some of the ocean’s most intriguing creatures and explore why they matter — not only for marine ecosystems, but also in ways that profoundly shape our own lives and the future of our planet.
